Pre & Post Care: Vitamin Injections & Intravenous (IV) Infusions
PRE CARE
To ensure the best possible experience and results, please take a moment to review and follow the pre-care instructions outlined below:
If you haven't already, please complete the Patient Intake Form. Ensure that you provide a detailed medical history, including allergies, medications, and previous cosmetic procedures.
This information will help your provider determine the most suitable type and dosage of vitamin injections for you.
-
Blood Tests: We will need to review your recent (within 3 months) blood tests to assess your basic metabolic panel and identify any deficiencies or imbalances that may require treatment with vitamin injections. These tests can help personalize your treatment plan and ensure that you receive the appropriate dosage of vitamins. Please bring a copy of your most recent blood test results within the last three months.
-
Hydration: Ensure that you are adequately hydrated before receiving vitamin injections. Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment can help improve blood flow and circulation, making it easier for your body to absorb the vitamins.
-
Avoid Blood Thinners: To minimize the risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection or IV insertion site, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for eight days before your appointment. If you are on prescription blood thinners, consult with your healthcare provider before discontinuing use.
-
Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment, preferably with sleeves that can be easily rolled up to expose the upper arm or glutes for the injection site. For IV infusions, wear sleeves that can be easily rolled up to expose your arms for vein access. You may also want to bring a sweater or blanket to stay warm during the infusion.
-
Length of Service: Injections take about 15-30 minutes. Please bring a copy of your most recent blood test results within the last three months. Intravenous (IV) vitamin infusions require at least an hour to an hour and a half of service.
-
By following these pre-care guidelines, you can help ensure a smooth and successful experience with vitamin injections and optimize the benefits of this treatment for your health and well-being. Remember to communicate openly with your healthcare provider and follow their instructions carefully to achieve the best possible results.

POST CARE
Post-care for vitamin injections and intravenous (IV) infusions involves steps to support your body's recovery after the treatment and maximize the benefits of the vitamins administered. Here's a guide on post-care for vitamin injections and infusions:
Hydration:
-
Continue to stay well-hydrated after the treatment by drinking plenty of water. Hydration helps flush out toxins and supports optimal absorption of vitamins.
Rest and Relaxation:
-
Allow yourself time to rest and relax after the treatment. Avoid strenuous physical activity or exercise for the remainder of the day to prevent discomfort and promote recovery.
Monitor for Side Effects:
-
Pay attention to any potential side effects or reactions after the treatment, such as swelling, redness, or discomfort at the injection site. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience any unusual or severe symptoms.
Avoid Blood Thinners:
-
Continue to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for a few days after the treatment to minimize the risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection site.
Sun Protection:
-
Protect your skin from direct sunlight and UV exposure in the days following the treatment. Use sunscreen with a high SPF, wear protective clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent skin damage and sensitivity.
Follow-up Appointments:
-
Schedule any follow-up appointments recommended by your healthcare provider to assess your progress and ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.
Nutritional Support:
-
Maintain a healthy diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to complement the effects of the vitamin injections or infusions. Eating nutrient-dense foods supports overall health and enhances the benefits of the treatment.
Monitor Hydration Levels:
-
Pay attention to your hydration levels in the days following the treatment. If you experience symptoms of dehydration, such as dry mouth, fatigue, or dizziness, increase your fluid intake accordingly.
Avoid Excessive Alcohol and Smoking:
-
Minimize alcohol consumption and refrain from smoking for a few days after the treatment. Both alcohol and smoking can interfere with the absorption of vitamins and may diminish the benefits of the treatment.
Follow Specific Instructions:
-
Adhere to any specific post-care instructions provided by your healthcare provider based on your individual needs and the type of vitamin injections or infusions received.
Communicate with Your Provider:
-
If you have any questions, concerns, or unexpected symptoms after the treatment, don't hesitate to contact your healthcare provider for guidance and support.
Attend Follow-Up Appointments:
-
Schedule and attend any recommended follow-up appointments with your provider to assess your results and address any concerns.
-
Follow up appointments are essential to determine if the dosing applied on the initial treatment is satisfactory or re-dosing is required.
-
Additional fees apply for re-dosing.
-
There is no fee for follow-ups with injections, BUT missed appointments ("no shows") for the follow-up will incur a $50 fee.
By following these post-care guidelines, you can support your body's recovery after vitamin injections and infusions and maximize the benefits of the treatment for your overall health and well-being. It's essential to prioritize self-care and maintain open communication with your healthcare provider throughout the post-treatment period.
