Scalp Microneedling: Pre- & Post-Care Instructions
At Arawan MedSpa + Wellness, our scalp microneedling treatments are designed to stimulate natural hair growth, improve scalp health, and support long-term follicle strength. To ensure optimal results and a smooth healing process, please follow the guidelines below.
Before Your Treatment
Do:

Wash your hair the morning of your appointment using a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo.

Avoid using any styling products such as gel, mousse, or oil on the day of treatment.

Stay well hydrated. Healthy skin responds better to treatment.

Discontinue the use of topical retinoids, exfoliants, or scalp acids 72 hours prior.

Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) 8 days before your session if medically appropriate.

Let us know if you’ve had a recent sunburn, rash, infection, or sensitivity on your scalp.
Don’t:

Do not undergo treatment if you have active eczema, psoriasis, open wounds, or a scalp infection.

Avoid scheduling hair coloring, keratin, or chemical treatments within 48 hours before your session.
After Your Treatment
Do:

Wait at least 24 hours before washing your hair.

Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo when cleansing the scalp.

Apply only the recommended post-care products or growth serums as instructed.

Protect your scalp from sun exposure. Wear a loose, breathable hat when outdoors.

Keep hydrated and maintain a healthy diet to support healing and hair growth.

Resume use of topicals like Minoxidil only when approved 48 to 72 hours after treatment.
Don’t:

Avoid sweating, working out, or taking hot showers for 24 hours.

Do not scratch, pick, or rub the treated area.

Refrain from wearing tight hats, helmets, or headbands for 48 hours.

Avoid hair coloring, chemical treatments, or scalp exfoliation for at least 5 to 7 days.

No swimming, saunas, or steam rooms for 72 hours post-treatment.
Treatment Schedule
For best results, scalp microneedling is recommended in a series of at least 6 sessions, spaced 2-4 weeks apart, with consistent follow-up care and proper home maintenance.
