Pre and Post Care: Chemical Peel Treatment

Chemical Peel Pre- & Post-Care

At Arawan MedSpa + Wellness, we want you to get the most from your chemical peel whether it’s a light refresh or a medium-depth resurfacing. Follow these simple guidelines to support your results and minimize irritation.

Before Your Chemical Peel

To ensure your skin is in the best condition to receive treatment:

✔ Do:

  • Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer in the days leading up to your peel.

  • Stay hydrated and apply SPF 30+ daily.

  • Let your provider know about any medications or active breakouts.

  • Discontinue use of retinoids, acids (AHAs/BHAs), and exfoliating products at least 5 to 7 days before treatment.

✘ Avoid:

  • Waxing, threading, or facial hair removal in the treatment area

  • Direct sun exposure or tanning beds

  • Recent laser treatments, microneedling, or injectable procedures in the same area (wait 1 to 2 weeks)

After Your Chemical Peel

✔ Do:

  • Cleanse with a gentle, non-active cleanser

  • Moisturize regularly to keep the skin barrier supported

  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even when indoors

  • Use only the post-care products recommended by your provider

  • Let peeling and flaking occur naturally, do not pick or peel manually

✘ Avoid:

  • Active ingredients (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums) for at least 5 to 7 days

  • Makeup for 24 to 48 hours, or until skin sensitivity resolves

  • Heat, steam rooms, saunas, or vigorous workouts for 48 hours post-treatment

  • Scrubbing, exfoliating, or rubbing the skin while peeling

What to Expect

  • Day 1–2: Mild redness or tightness

  • Day 3–5: Peeling begins and this first happens most often around the mouth, nose, and chin

  • Day 6–7: Skin looks smoother, more hydrated, and refreshed

  • Week 2 and beyond: Brighter tone and more even texture continue to develop

Enhance & Maintain Your Results

  • Schedule a series of chemical peels every 4 to 6 weeks for optimal skin renewal

  • Maintain results with SPF, hydrating serums, and regular exfoliation (once skin heals)

  • Pair with services like microneedling, PRP facials, or HydraFacials for deeper rejuvenation
