Pre and Post Care: Chemical Peel Treatment
Chemical Peel Pre- & Post-Care
At Arawan MedSpa + Wellness, we want you to get the most from your chemical peel whether it’s a light refresh or a medium-depth resurfacing. Follow these simple guidelines to support your results and minimize irritation.
Before Your Chemical Peel
To ensure your skin is in the best condition to receive treatment:
✔ Do:
-
Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer in the days leading up to your peel.
-
Stay hydrated and apply SPF 30+ daily.
-
Let your provider know about any medications or active breakouts.
-
Discontinue use of retinoids, acids (AHAs/BHAs), and exfoliating products at least 5 to 7 days before treatment.
✘ Avoid:
-
Waxing, threading, or facial hair removal in the treatment area
-
Direct sun exposure or tanning beds
-
Recent laser treatments, microneedling, or injectable procedures in the same area (wait 1 to 2 weeks)
After Your Chemical Peel
✔ Do:
-
Cleanse with a gentle, non-active cleanser
-
Moisturize regularly to keep the skin barrier supported
-
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even when indoors
-
Use only the post-care products recommended by your provider
-
Let peeling and flaking occur naturally, do not pick or peel manually
✘ Avoid:
-
Active ingredients (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums) for at least 5 to 7 days
-
Makeup for 24 to 48 hours, or until skin sensitivity resolves
-
Heat, steam rooms, saunas, or vigorous workouts for 48 hours post-treatment
-
Scrubbing, exfoliating, or rubbing the skin while peeling
